Butterflyfish live in the Western Pacific, from the Andaman Sea to the Ryukyu Islands and Australia. Two things that you see right away are their big noses and beautiful colors, yellow-orange bars with black edges that run across their body.

Butterflyfish usually get along with other fish. Young Butterflyfish will be cleaners for larger fish.

Your saltwater aquarium will need to be at least 75 gallons, with lots of hiding spots and plenty of open space to swim around in. They also need hiding places for the night.

They live from 2 to 4 years.
