BARK tip!
" Taking your dog to the Vet once a year is like you going to see your doctor once every 7 years ! Don't miss your dogs Vet appointment ! "
Washing Fido

Do you love taking a bath ? Some dogs do and some dogs don’t. Here are a few things to do so our pups can “enjoy the experience”.

First, and maybe most important, use a dog shampoo made for dogs. Using a “people shampoo” can really dry out your a dog’s coat. You can get puppy shampoo, white coat shampoo, super dirty coat cleaning shampoo, whatever you need at your local pet store.

Don’t give them too many baths
Once a month is usually the most you would want to give your buddy a bath. Lots of dogs only need a bath about every three months. Ask your Vet or groomer what’s best for your dog.

Brush them before and after their bath
Brushing before makes brushing afterward way easier.

Put some cotton balls in their ears before the bath
Water in the ears is one of the big reasons for ear infections. REMEMBER to take them out after the bath!

Make sure no shampoo gets in their eyes
We don‘t like it and they don‘t either. If you do get shampoo in their eyes, just wash it out with warm water.

Totally rinse the shampoo off
It’s easy to leave some on. Rinse especially between their toes. Leftover shampoo will make them lick and irritate their skin.

Be sure they are totally dried off
Dogs love to run and roll around after a bath. If they are still wet, they will pick up all kinds of things from the ground and ruin all the work you have just done.

Happy Bathing !
